Concentration

Concentration is the ability of a person to focus his or her attention highly on something. Concentration is directly related to the success of one's work or career. Learning concentration is a common characteristic of all scholars. If a person wanted to be successful in his/her goals, he must be concentrated on one goal at a certain time. For the child, train them to have a habit that is concentrate when doing one thing, will have a large effect on the child's life.

M.S. Steiner, a child education expert, believes that only when a child develops a habit of concentration are. they likely to become fully engaged in their career and not be distracted by other things in the future. The concentrate is the ability of people to point and focus on certain things, and it plays a leading role in various cognitive activities.

Listen carefully, think properly, and watch carefully are the easy thing that children must have when they want to be more concentrate. There are four qualities of attention, namely, the breadth of attention, the stability of attention, the distribution of attention and the transfer of attention, which is a sign to measure the quality of a person's attention.

The breadth of attention refers to the number of objects that people can clearly perceive and recognize in the instant. Attentional stability is the ability of a person to focus his attention on a particular object and activity in a relatively concentrated way within a certain period of time. Attentional distribution is the ability of a person to assign attention equally across multiple activities. The shift of attention refers to the ability of a person to change his or her attention from one place to another in an active, purposeful, or timely manner.

Distraction is a common problem among all children, children's attention is not the same at different stages, and children's attention is not necessarily the same at the same age, it depends on their personality, gender, age, and so on. When a child does not have good attention, it will lead them to be not interested in many things, easy to drift down. Parents should start to cultivate their children's attention at an early age and can help them overcome these difficulties according to their children's characteristics.

Suggestion 1: Prepare a quiet place for children to study

Surroundings are one of the reasons that make the children cannot focus. The parents should give the children a place which can make them calm down and comfortable to study. For example, the room must tidy and clean, the light is suitable for the children to study and the materials for study are ready. When the children are studying, the parents should not make noise. This is because the sounds are one of the reasons that make the children can’t be the focus. In my opinion, parents can accompany children when they are studying. Parents can do a reading or write beside them. Sometimes, the children will have some problems, parents can help them to solve it. Therefore, parents are a good model for the children on how important focus when doing something.

Suggestion 2: Help children to pick up the habit of reading

The parents should help the children to pick up the habit of reading. Most of the children who do not like reading can’t be the focus. This because they can’t be much longer time to focus on doing a thing. For an example, the parents can let the children choose the books based on their interests. The parents also guide the children when they are reading. So that, children will have the mood to continue finish read up the book. Therefore, the children can more focus to do another thing once they love reading.

Suggestion 3: Train child to focus on one task at a certain time

Inattention is the worst enemy of a learning child. Some kids play their favorite cartoons in their head while they are doing homework. Some of them look around. Due to these reasons, the time for children supposed to finish the homework from a few minutes to a few hours.

Most parents think that focusing on learning means that the child needs to focus on learning for a long time, which is wrong. The true meaning of concentration is that one concentrates on doing one thing for a period of time. When parents suppress their children's instinct ----- to play and ask them to focus all their energy on the study, it will have the opposite effect.

For children, parents should pay attention to cultivate their children's ability to do one thing well at a certain time. For homework, parents can help their children arrange a reasonable schedule, such as a five to ten-minute break when a child has finished a subject, or they can set a time when the child can temporarily drop the work and parents can play attention games with the child

Mrs. Stena and her daughter Winifret often play "watch out" games. Mrs. Stena grabbed five or six colorful hair bands in one hand, dangled them in front of her daughter, and then asked her how many hair bands she had in her hand. In the beginning, the speed is relatively slow, so that the child has enough time to pay attention to the hairband in her hand. Later, the speed got faster and faster, and in the end, it was just a blink of an eye. In the beginning, my daughter lost more often. Later, when my daughter got the correct guess, she tried her mother in turn, and her mother lost more. This kind of watching the game is used to cultivate children's attention.

Parents can prepare games according to their children's interests and according to a certain purpose. Of course, the prepared games cannot be given to the children in one time. Parents need to let the children explore by themselves. The content of the game can range from simple to complex to meet the needs of children at different stages. Besides, parents need to control the game time to avoid being too long, changing the content of the game from time to time, and finally, when the child is playing the game, do not intentionally interfere with the child, which will make them lose their concentration.
